  • ohnedaruth (LL 12/12/2013, 09:24:08, login required): "The late show was my first JGB show. One odd thing was the opening act was new wave-ish rocker Rachel Sweet. Jerry's audience wasn't too thrilled with her, but everything was fine once Garcia came on. Another crazy thing about this show was that I had borrowed my girlfriend's car to travel to Boston for the show. My buddy with whom I was staying said it would be o.k. for us to park in the lot behind his dorm- but it wasn't. The car got towed and we had to borrow money to get it back. Then we had no dough for gas for the ride home. Made it back running on fumes! When my girl next went to start the car, no luck, out of gas! Oh man- to be young and irresponsible!"
  • review: Adler 1980. JG seemed to be wearing the same black t-shirt he wore in '67. "That he has been able to sustain a career without making any concessions to mass taste is one of the miracles of music biz history".
