Garcia identified in preview ("Bands, Bands, Bands, Scheduled At Fair," Daily Chronicle (Centralia, WA), July 25, 1972, p. unknown), but the writeup in the next day's paper centers a grandstand performance starring country-western singer Lynn Anderson (John Atkins, "Fair in weekend finale," Daily Chronicle (Centralia, WA), August 12, 1972, p. 1). That is very rural country, so maybe no-one cared about JGMS, but it seems likelier than not that they canceled.
