  • We believe this to be the debut run of the Jerry Garcia-Merl Saunders live partnership. All three nights of this Monday-Wednesday run were recorded, but nothing is known to the IFJGS beyond the existence of tapes.
  • ad: Good Times v3 n40 (October 9, 1970), p. 19, scan via the late great Ross Hannan. Ad bills "Jerry Garcia, Merl Sanders [sic, sort of] & Friends". (The sic qualifier is that Merl's last name at birth was Sanders, but he had changed his name already as a teenager.
