Per DeadEssays blog this show was originally scheduled at Kaleidoscope, but due to legal issues with the building owner it was closed to the public and the show was moved to the Banana Grove (Embasy Room) at the Ambassador Hotel.
Venue sometimes given as "Banana Grove," which was nickname for Kaleidoscope, per Diehl 1967. Sorochty's notes: Comments The Dead were supposed to play with Jefferson Airplane and Canned Heat on April 14-16 at The Kaleidoscope on Vine Street. Those shows did not take place, but were moved to the Embassy Ballroom in the Ambassador Hotel on Monday the 17th. This venue was nicknamed the Banana Grove. LIA says no evidence for previously listed show on 4/17.
Corry: "Ciro’s was a club at 8433 Sunset at La Cienaga. It was temporarily known as The Kaleidoscope at Ciro’s. It had been a glamorous Hollywood nightspot in the 40s, but struggled to find a niche in the 60s. It is now The Comedy Store."
