The only surviving recordings of this band come from these three dates (July 16th, 17th and 18th), but it is unclear which songs came from which dates.
The instrumentation is derived from a band interview that was recorded.
The recordings were made by Stanford students and KZSU radio hosts Pete Wanger and Wayne Ott for their radio program. The original tapes were discarded, but the 10 produced hour-long shows were re-discovered in the 1990s and released commercially by Grateful Dead Records. All surviving recordings were included in the release.
The official release of this material contains a Garcia quip to the audience entitled "Boo Break" after "The Rub", and a band interview at the end.
