Back in the day there were tapes labeled JGB at Theatre 1839 dated 1/12/77, but they were mislabels of 7/30/77. We are quite sure this event is totally spurious, as the room was not operating at this point. See "Blues to reopen old synagogue," San Francisco Examiner, April 16, 1977, p. 8.
