    Notes
  • Ad: Peninsula Times-Tribune, January 9, 1976, p. 13
  • For more around this period, see JGMF's "Jerry's January 1976" (on 1/76 as *the* pivotal moment in Garcia's side projects), "James Booker, Classified" (on Booker), "'Gimme Some Chords, Jerry Garcia, Gimme Some Chords!'" (1/7/76 rehearsal tape), "Junco Partners" (on the 1/10/76 gig David Cook aud tape), as well as Corry's "January 9-10, 1976: Sophie's, Palo Alto, CA: The Jerry Garcia Band with James Booker".
  • Cryptdev recalls: " I went to the1/9 show, and it was one of the wildest and weirdest Garcia shows I ever saw. Basically Booker took over and the rest of the band was doing their best to keep up with whatever poured out of his keyboard. Booker was clearly very lubricated with something(s) and spent the break at the bar imbibing prodigiously. Jerry did get in a few tunes from his usual repertoire at the time, but clearly with some difficulty."
  • JGMF: Flight Of The Bumblebee
  • With James Booker. Nicky Hopkins was listed on the AFM contract, dated 1/8/76. Band gets $500 guarantee or 90% of gross. Venue signed by Ken Rominger, with an address at 30 S. Central Avenue in Campbell, i.e., The Bodega.
