Notes
  • Jesse Jarnow: "someone in the band is definitely experimenting with a weird pitch-bending synth instrument that sounds not dissimilar to an EVI. Pretty sure it's Merl. Currently listening to August 11th, 1974 and it comes up in "La La" and "Ain't No Woman" and maybe elsewhere." Ihor: "Sounds like the complement to the EVI - a wind controller, an electronic musical instrument invented by Nyle Steiner." Gary Lambert: "I remember around that time Merl had a pretty basic monophonic synth that sat atop his B-3, and he used the pitch wheel to bend notes."
