review: [negative] Aquilante 1993: "a stinker of a show. It was long, it was boring, it was lifeless" (what he calls a triple-Sominex). "If the J-Man played 'The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down' or 'I Shall Be Released' any slower, I was gonna call EMS."
JGMF: The Reedman vs. The Gunslinger: JGB with David Murray, Madison Square Garden, November 12, 1993: Murray plays the whole show except "The Maker". Garcia starts playing "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" for the last tune of set I, but switches to "Lay Down Sally", and then proceeds to lay down a version for the ages. In sum: "the 'Lay Down Sally' from November 12, 1993 provides one of the finest musical displays of Garcia's late solo career."
