This is a tricky one. The July '79 Keystone calendar ran into early August, and showed Reconstruction playing Berkeley on 8/3 and Palo Alto on 8/4 and 8/5. Because the GD were playing the latter nights, it seems unlikely that Garcia was planned to play with Merl and the horns and the rest. Maybe that was a Carl Lockett night for Reconstruction. That seems to make 8/3 less likely to have been planned as a Garcia night. We just don't know. Whatever the plans were in late June when the July '79 Keystone calendar was put together, by the end of the month, the pink section showed Stoneground in Berkeley on 8/3.
