Benefit Concert for the Survival of the Forest Community of Camp Meeker
Notes
  • Billed as Maria Muldaur and Special Guest, but contract says Jerry Garcia Band. Tutt playing with Elvis in Des Moines (Mexican Sundial suit). AFM lists two shows starting at 7:30 and 11 pm. The wage just says "Benefit/Scale", with the employer paying production expenses. The AFM material lists Kahn, Keith Godchaux, Garcia and Gregg [sic] Enrico [sic] from AFM local no. 47 (the LA office, since Greg Errico was living in Pacific Palisades at the time).

  • review: [positive] Jensen 19770626. Garcia was supposed to open the 7:30 show, but "got lost en route from Marin County." Institute staff note that Jerry knew that country like the back of his hand, including the Russian River to west at Camp Meeker, near Occidental. Staff wonders whether he was just late flying back from LA. The late show didn't start until 12:30 AM, and ended at 3.
