Notes
Sue: Wage agreed upon: $5,000 plus $1,500 light and sound, plus 60% gross receipts over $9,000. The last piece generated $808.50. Gross potential $12,000. Tix $3.50 general, $5 general. Boxoffice report makes it look like the band got $9,000, but I am not sure what to make of that.
TJS traditionally listed one two-set show, but this is wrong. There were two shows.
preview: "Jerry Garcia to play here," Oberlin Review, February 26, 1976, pp. 1, 8: Social Board Chairman Jeff Libson wouldn't reveal the fee, but seemed confident that it'd work out. Apparently deal was finalized ca. 2/25/76 (could be 2/18) following three days of negotiations.

review: [negative] Ruchman 1976: Garcia "seemed tired and testy at the soundcheck, which ran late, and his attitude carried over through the first show. Compounding the problem was the absence of opening act Alex Bevin. Probyn Gregory covered admirably. ... One person during the early show yelled 'Get us off!', to which "Garcia mumbled, off-mic, 'Get US off!' ... 'After Midnight' was the kiss-off", which implies to me that it closed the early show.
