Notes
  • Twitterato @bryontreece notes a “Streets of Cairo” tease @ 16:39 of "David's Tune (Em)". NB that "Streets of Cairo" is also known as "Arabian Riff", and it's a clever thematic tie-in to Blues for Allah and the GD gig played in this same room one week prior.

  • Conventionally listed as JGB, probably due to ad in the pink section on 8/10 and 8/17 billing "Jerry Garcia Band", first known appearance of that identifier in print. But Alson and Dym provide immediate expost identification of KDB. Note that Nicky was in New York City 8/18-20 (New York Magazine vol.8 no. 32 , August 11, 1975, p. 18). Note further that Tutt was with Elvis on 8/20/75 in Las Vegas. Brown calendar does identify this as "Garcia GAMH" (Steve Brown Papers: Calendar, 1974-1976, Grateful Dead Archive, Special Collections, UC Santa Cruz, MS.338, box 1, folder 4). So maybe it was originally conceived as a Garcia thing, but ended up as K&D, maybe even because Garcia's prospective bandmates were unavailable. Update 8/6/16: Finally on day-of the Chron billed "Keith and Donna Godchaux, will Bill Kreutzmann and Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead."
