King wins Album of the Year (for Tapestry), Record of the Year (for "It's Too Late") and Song of the Year (for ‚"You've Got a Friend"), while Carly Simon wins Best New Artist. L.A. disc jockey Robert W. Morgan plays Donny Osmond's "Puppy Love" non-stop for 90 minutes. Police are called, but no arrests are made.
