    Notes
  • Entire show without Pigpen
  • With the support of Warner Brothers, which had declared October 1971 "Grateful Dead Month" and was heavily promoting Skullfuck, most of these gigs were broadcast over FM. See Lost Live Dead, Grateful Dead Live FM Broadcasts 1971 (FM IV). This was Keith's first tour with the Dead, and Garcia's last with the New Riders.
  • FM broadcast - we had a note saying "WCMF-Rochester", but that doesn't seem right ... it was probably WNCR (Cleveland!).
  • review: [positive] Girard 1971. Girard spends good time with the New Riders, especially.
  • review: [positive] Masterson 1971.
  • deadsources: "October 29, 1971: Allen Theatre, Cleveland OH". This has the text of the Girard and Masterson reviews, several other exante articles.
  • Historical
  • The Allman Brothers Band's guitarist Duane Allman dies in a motorcycle accident in Macon, Georgia after colliding with a truck.
