    Notes
  • Poster bills "Tuesday July 14 at 9 PM, Euphoria Enterprises Present An Evening With the Grateful Dead New Riders of the Purple Sage Rubber Duck Company. Euphoria San Rafael Dance Concert. $3.00." Note that the 16th is not on the poster, but is handwritten in on the copy hosted at the Deadlists poster annex. NB as well that San Francisco Chronicle Chronicle listings call the venue "Euphoria Productions", not Ballroom. The BB ad says "Euphoric Enterprises Presents" AEWTGD, "last Bay Area performance before going out on tour." Tickets are given as $3.50 Friday and Saturday, $3.00 Sunday, which doesn't make sense of the Tuesday, Thursday setup here. The 12/27/70 interviewer recalls that the show ran acoustic GD, New Riders, Rubber Duck, and electric GD.
  • preview: "Grateful Dead in Concerts at San Rafael," San Francisco Chronicle, July 11, 1970, p. 32
  • "This was the Bear's going away party", per Deadlists. We have always known this as "Euphoria Ballroom", but the contemporary listings and such seem to call it Euphoria Productions, or just Euphoria - for what it's worth.
