  • Nelson considers this the first gig of the yet-unnamed New Riders of the Purple Sage (NRPS). Sounds like quite a night. See Arnold for details. The event was to benefit the pregnant widow of Gino Heinicke, a Hell's Angel who bad been shot to death by rival bikers (from the Gypsy Jokers) in Golden Gate Park on June 29th.
