    Notes
  • Family Dog was out of the Avalon by this time. This was put on by Soundproof Productions, involving a partnership between folks from the Denver Dog and the Vulcan Gas Company (Austin). They were cooperating with the hall owner by promising to make renovations to the building and improvements to the sound, keeping neighbors at bay by limiting lines and cleaning up the street after shows, and making the rent-a-cops responsible to Mr. Hooley (the owner), who in turn would let them use his dance permit. All of that detail from Smokestack El Ropo, "Family Dog and Fleas Hop to It," Good Times, January 21, 1969, p. 2. The Soundproof guys were Bob Simmons and Gary Scanlon (Link 1969).
