LIA supplies some info about this act in his blog post about the Zodiacs: Garcia was briefly in a band called the Chords, featuring The Golden Saxes, a group mainly featuring '40s big-band tunes like Misty. They mostly played for fellow high-school audiences – sometimes they’d play a rock song such as Raunchy.
As per Garcia, "We had a five-piece combo - a piano, two saxes, a bass, and my guitar. We won a contest and got to record a song. We did Raunchy, but it didn't turn out very well." Describing the sound, "kind of easy-listening stuff. Businessman’s bounce, high school version."
